Doula Support

Congratulations on your upcoming journey into parenthood! As a doula, I specialize in supporting women and birthing people during the transformative phases of birth and the postnatal period. I place a particular focus on the importance of rest, nutrition, and traditional wisdom passed down through generations across many cultures. My role is to offer emotional and physical support, provide evidence-based information to help you make informed decisions and, with your permission, advocate for you.

With you throughout the perinatal period

During pregnancy and birth I will be there by your side, offering regular support. We will meet antenatally to discuss your preferences and beliefs and how I can help you during the birth. During labour, when you are ready, I will join you and remain with you until your baby is born and you are all settled after their first feed.

During postnatal visits, my focus is on supporting you as you recover, bond with your baby, and transition into your new role as a mother. Rest and nutrition are crucial elements of postnatal well-being, and I will emphasize their importance throughout our time together. Drawing upon traditional wisdom from diverse cultures, I will guide you in creating a nourishing postnatal plan that supports your body’s healing and provides you with the energy you need to care for your little one. From nutritious meal planning to carving out space for a nap, I will ensure that you receive the care and nourishment you deserve during this special time.

I honour and respect the diversity of cultural practices and beliefs surrounding childbirth and the postnatal period. Traditional wisdom can be a source of strength and guidance, and increasingly I find clients wish to incorporate these practices. I’ll be happy to share knowledge and support you in exploring the customs that resonate with you.
